About HOAs in Massachusetts

Massachusetts community associations are governed by the Massachusetts Condominium Act (M.G.L. Chapter 183A) for condominiums and by the general laws on nonprofit corporations and homeowner organizations for HOAs and homestead associations. Chapter 183A sets requirements for the master deed, declaration of trust, bylaws, unit-owner meetings, board elections, and access to financial records. Each Massachusetts association also adopts its own rules and amendments. HOAproxy collects those documents and makes them searchable so unit owners and prospective buyers can find the provisions that actually govern a property without paging through hundreds of recorded pages.
