About HOAs in Illinois
Illinois community associations are governed by the Illinois Condominium Property Act (765 ILCS 605) and the Common Interest Community Association Act (765 ILCS 160) for HOAs and townhome associations. Both statutes give owners specific rights around access to governing documents and financial records, open board meetings, elections, and proxy voting.
